NEXICAPTURE is a screen recorder and video editor for Windows. It is built for people who explain things on screen — tutorials, product demos, lessons, support videos and short social clips — and who want to go from recording to a finished video without switching programs.
## Where it comes from
NEXICAPTURE 1.0.0 grew out of LexiCapture, a free Windows screen recorder and editor. It keeps its recording and editing tools, has its own identity and data folders, and runs fully offline.
## Where it is today
NEXICAPTURE is in early access. The app records, edits and exports on your PC. Some things are still to come: a code-signed installer, automatic updates, and online services such as accounts. We list what works and what does not on the features page and in the release notes.
## Principles
- Your videos stay on your PC. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose a cloud tool with your own key.
- No usage tracking in the app.
- Honest about limits. If a feature is not ready, we say so.
